About me

My love of yoga started just over four years ago when I was pregnant with my little boy, although I had dabbled in it over the years this is when I really began to fall in love with the practise.  I really needed something to help me feel grounded during this time of change and yoga did just that, whilst also keeping me active and strengthening my body as it grew to the size of a small house.

I completed my 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher training in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga in 2018 and am excited to share my knowledge of the practise with you. ATyoga.com provides you with information on upcoming classes, workshops, private tuition and all other things yoga. I have spent countless hours trying to come up with an original, catchy name  but with so many great ones already taken, it wasn’t an easy task. I decided to look at using my sons’ initials, since he is the reason I am so into yoga today. And so ATyoga was born! (Thanks Arnie)

My aim is to create classes that are friendly and relaxed, so if you’re a seasoned yogi, don’t yet know your downward dog from your pigeon, are coming to stretch out tired muscles and / or tired minds or are all the above, then you will instantly feel welcome and at ease when you walk through the door.  I am still very much on my yoga journey and look forward to learning and growing with my students as we develop and deepen our practise together.

I like to combine creative sequencing, a dose of inspiration and some time to recharge before you head back to your busy lives, hopefully feeling energised, recharged and balanced. Learning how to connect the body to the breath and being able to get out of my head and into the present moment has been invaluable for me and I hope to show you all of its benefits too.  Yoga really is for everyone!

Why practise yoga?

The short answer is that yoga can help you feel better. By taking the time to slow down and breathe, whilst becoming aware of your body and its movement, yoga helps you feel healthier in body, mind and spirit.

Yoga lets you tune in, chill out and shape up all at the same time. For many people, that’s enough of an answer.

Corporate Yoga Classes

Yoga in the workplace is becoming more and more popular due its contribution to the decrease in stress related absences, an increase in staff productivity and a boost in morale among employees, not to mention the physical benefits for those sat at a desk all day. Why not introduce yoga to your companies wellbeing programme, you don’t need a gym or a studio, any large room can work just as well!

The Goal of Yoga

(NO, IT’S NOT THE HANDSTAND).

The yoga pose is not the goal. Becoming flexible is not the goal. Standing on your hands is not the goal.

The goal is to create space where you were once stuck. To unveil the layers of protection you’ve built around your heart. To appreciate your body and become aware of the mind and the noise it creates.

To make peace with who you are, the goal is to love, well… You.

Come to your yoga mat to feel; not to accomplish. Shift your focus and your heart will grow.
